Samikchhya is a researcher, writer, and an urban planner advancing equitable transportation outcomes and climate solutions.


Samikchhya is skilled in capacity building, stakeholder engagement, research, and facilitation.

 Samikchhya most recently worked as a proposal writer within the shared micromobility industry. Previously, she worked as a Policy Manager at Forth for the Towards Equitable Electric Mobility (TEEM) Community of Practice, a coalition of environmental and environmental justice organizations focused on advancing equitable electric mobility. In this role, she built capacity of community-based organizations in five states. At Forth, she also designed and implemented the curriculum for the Supporting Transportation Electrification Leadership Learning and Resources (STELLAR) program to train community-based organizations in Illinois on equitable electric mobility. Previously, she worked at the UCLA Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies on the Access to Opportunities initiative.

Samikchhya holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. While in the program, she conducted research for the Displacement Avoidance Plan for Pacoima Beautiful’s Transformative Climate Communities program. She previously received a Bachelors Degree from Soka University of America. She was a NACTO Transportation Justice Fellow in 2023-24 and a Summer Research Fellow at the UCLA Institute on Inequality and Democracy in 2020. Outside of work, she likes to read and write poems.
