Peter Merry joined Estolano Advisors in 2023 and brings a wealth of knowledge in data analysis and transportation planning. Having worked with both public agencies and nonprofits, Peter’s work is grounded in community-based and equity-focused planning.

Peter plays a key role on the GIS and data analysis team. To promote community-based park development in the region, Peter led an ArcGIS hotspot analysis that helped the LA County CSO identify communities with high park needs. He researched over 60 local, state, and federal competitive grants, a task that culminated in detailed grant recommendations for the LA County Parks Needs Assessment Plus Implementation Plan. He has also researched and wrote a toolkit on rental assistance programs in the pandemic, highlighting success stories, best practices, and lessons learned from programs throughout the United States.

Before joining EA, Peter worked as a Transportation Associate at LA Metro, where he oversaw the planning of the Noho to Pasadena BRT and assisted local governments with the development of active transportation projects. Before that, Peter worked with several nonprofits and community-based organizations located in Los Angeles, such as SAJE, LAANE, and Food Forward.

Peter obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Environmental Policy from Occidental College in Los Angeles. Outside of work, Peter enjoys exploring neighborhoods in LA County and scenic hikes in SoCal.
