Miya is passionate about uplifting creative economic and workforce models to create resilient and equitable communities. 

Miya provides project and research support across project areas at the firm with a focus on equity in community and economic development, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and program design. She brings previous experience in public health, housing, and labor organizing in Seattle and Los Angeles.

Miya has worked with housing and labor-focused power building organizations as a policy advocate, conducting applied research for various campaigns that empower community and worker voice.  

Before joining EA in 2023, Miya studied Urban and Environmental Policy at Occidental College. At Occidental, Miya received a Community Action Award for her research on garment worker cooperatives and work with labor organizations. Miya is passionate about pursuing a high road in the creative economy.
